TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Course Outline
The Certificate IV in TAA is designed to assist those who have responsibility for training; program development; individual, group and work-based delivery as well as the assessment of training students or employees. It is a generic qualification which will enable the individual to deliver training and assessment in their areas of expertise or knowledge..
Course Structure
The Certificate IV in TAA has fourteen (14) Units of Competency (12 Core Units plus 2 Elective Units) that must be demonstrated before the qualification can be awarded.
All units within this qualification are combined into five clusters. These clusters are designed to provide a holistic, efficient and meaningful learning experience by:
- reducing duplication of essential knowledge and skills that cut across multiple units of competency e.g. adult learning theories
- addressing the recommendations in the units for co-learning and assessment
- enabling the construction of meaningful assessments that reflect workplace requirements
The clusters are sequenced in a logical fashion to achieve progressive development of learner competence from the previous cluster.

These workshops are held on a consecutive Friday and Saturday per fortnight from 9.00am-4.30pm.
Assessment for this qualification is specifically designed for each cluster and involves workplace projects, written questions and reflection. The workplace projects are structured to support the application of competencies in the workplace.
Individuals who have worked in the industry for some time and have the requisite skills and knowledge may apply for recognition assessment.
